Far left is Marshall Minks with his grandson (his "old Navy" buddy). Far right is Mary Child Don Haslett (spokesman for the re-commissioning crew), presented the association with the original brass quarterdeck plaque that was taken off when the ship was de-commissioned.<br><br> Mr. Haslett also proposed a toast to former CO Walter "Jack" Deal who due to medical reasons was unable to attend.<br><br> He also made note of the most generous donation made to the association by Bill Rennicke in honor of the officers and men of the re-commissioning crew. John Gabbert (left), his sister Dorothy, and Jim Kress.  John is in a Veterans home in St. Louis and was visited by the crew during the Reunion
